SQ HDC3 12 box design help

If you are going for "SQ" like the title says ... Then you should be tuning more around 24 to 28 htz ...

Just saying ...

I love the fact the name changed like that, cuz when people ask what I have "in there", I say, "Just a lil "SQ" setup, that's all." LOL

So here is a suggestion:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 36 Hz

Vb = 2.5 ft^3

External Height = 15 in

External Width = 37 in

External Depth = 15 in

Port Width = 3 1/4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.

* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 37 x 15

Left & Right Sides = 12 3/4 x 13 1/2

Top & Bottom = 37 x 12 3/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Front to Back = 9 1/2 x 13 1/2

Extension = 14 1/4 x 13 1/2

Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

Important notes:

- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.

- All boxes built outside the car need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.

- The port needs 3 1/4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.

- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.

How far do I put the woofer from the port?

As far as possible from the inner end of the port is the better place.

I would expect no problems if placing it about where you see it on the sketch.

So I made a miss measurement on how tall my box can be. Max for how tall it can be is 14 in. (15 makes it hit the arms of my trunk ) so if I take off 1 in and make it

External Height = 14 in
External Width = 37 in
External Depth = 15 in

will it change much and I assume the cut piece will change to

2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 37 x 14

Left & Right Sides = 12 3/4 x 12 1/2

Top & Bottom = 37 x 12 3/4

Front to Back = 9 1/2 x 12 1/2
Extension = 14 1/4 x 12 1/2

please correct me if I am wrong and if itwill change tuning and stuff like that.

It would reduce net volume and up tuning, anyways in the design post above I changed dimensions so that your box can be 14 high and still keep the original spec.

thanks man that's why I wanted to ask and see what it would do. I am no box expert at all lol don't really know how to figure it out for my self. thatsthe next thing im going to learn

With me dropping the power from 750rms daily and 2k during comps to 1200 all the time make a difference in the size of the box?
