jarrius Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 So finally ordered my AQ/SQ HDC3 12 for my sonic and I have tried to design my own box with Torres and I cant fugure it out with the port and tuning.( need to play with it more). So with that said can I get some help. it will be in a trunk single 12 facing forward and port forward on about 1k-2k depending on what I am using it for at the time. Max numbers I want to use is this 24Lx37Wx19H tune to about 35 HZ if that's to low just let me know . as long as in it with in that range I should be able to get it in and out of the trunk through the trunk door... I hope lol. If any one can help me that would be superb since I don't want to mess up the woofer or waist money on the box. Also what material will I need. I know MDF or Burch bord for box but what type of glue and all that for making sure it stays together. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
98GCLimited Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 You can use probably any good wood glue but I recommend Titebond II. I hear some people use Elmers wood glue with good results too but I always use Titebond II. Used Titebond I once and it worked good too. The Titebond II is moisture/water proof though.

Joe X Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 So here is a suggestion: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 36 HzVb = 2.5 ft^3External Height = 14 inExternal Width = 37 inExternal Depth = 15.75 inPort Width = 3 1/4 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 37 x 14Left & Right Sides = 13 1/2 x 12 1/2Top & Bottom = 37 x 13 1/2L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 10 1/4 x 12 1/2Extension = 11 1/2 x 12 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.- All boxes built outside the car need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.- The port needs 3 1/4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.
