Install help?

Hello Everyone,

I have had an Infinity Reference 1260w in a sealed box powered by an RE Audio DTS 1000.1 subwoofer in my vehicle for over 6 months now, and I have decided to upgrade. I purchased another of the subwoofers, and attempted to install it.

RMS Values of 1260w's = 300w

@2ohm DTS1000.1 = 560w

For some reason that I can't determine, it isn't playing as loud/well as before, much less louder as it should. Is this because my amp is too weak?

I am attempting to wire it down to a 2 ohm load, and to do this I have run the speaker wire from the amp to the first sub, then looped it to the 2nd.

AMP + ---> sub #1+ ----> sub #2+
AMP - ---> sub #1- ----> sub #2-

I left the gain where it was previously, as when I attempted to increase it I could hear distortion in the speakers.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong, or what I need to do to make this look effective?

If needed, I can go take pictures of what I've done.

Also,

I've tested each sub to the amp individually in the box, as I've had set up before and they play fairly loud. However, when I wire it to 2 ohms, it is significantly quieter than 1 of the speakers playing by itself.

sure its wired correctly and not out of phase?

Sounds like its out of phase those subs bump pretty good and you would def notice the difference with 2 of them. Try wiring one of the subs reverse polarity to the other one. Just flip the positive and negative around on one of the subs not both.

Maybe I'm missing it. What's the coil configuration on these? And what ohm each?

Thank for the help everyone, just went out there and checked and I did have one of them wired backwards on the inside of the box. Doh!

1260w are single 4 ohm bro 1262w are dual 4

Maybe I'm missing it. What's the coil configuration on these? And what ohm each?
