Airborne
I got a reciever for like $30.00 from a shit hole second hand store, some old surround speakers from a couple setups I ran through the years, a Bash 300w plate amp and a first run Sundown E8 (just reconed with v2 frame and cone) in an old center console box I built a few years ago. It is fucking LOUD and clear! Low buck and perfect for the garage
Pro7
I think im gonna pick up a Onkyo TX-SR674 for a pretty good price. Its a 7.1 with 95w x 7ch so I have plenty of power to play with. It has rca inputs so I think I'm gonna pick up a Bluetooth adaptor like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00727FE5U/ref=aw_cm_cr_asin_lnk And then get a 3.5mm --> rca splitter ---> receiver what do you guys think this will give me for sound quality? Im not too worried about sq but i just dont want it to sound like garbage. Also what do you guys think about that receiver? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zScjFdO68fB/p_580TXS674B/Onkyo-TX-SR674-Black.html I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before
Pro7
Oh and do you guys think these are worth saving and putting new speakers in? Maybe a tweeter and 2.5" midrange? Each baffle is 2.75" square. Chris Hammer
Those would be good for some full range pc speakers IMO with a nice FullRange driver that fits like the Dayton neo drivers. But get a thumbs down from me for a garage system or something you want real midbass and some low end on. I picked up my older yamaha 5.1 for 40$, works great, I think only 55w channel at 8ohm, but honestly more then enough if you are running several sets of speakers. I never get past half volume before it is literally too loud for my room. I wouldn't get to caught up in getting one with 5-10w more or less, I would save as much of your budget as you can for better drivers. Justin248
They aren't too expensive. Create a 1st order(6db roll off) with inductor coils and capacitors. For the 3500 x-over at 8 ohms, a 5.6uf cap is required in line on the positive wire http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/200LLE5R6MEFC8X9/1189-1182-ND/3134140 which is .46 a piece. For the 200 x-over at 8 ohms a 6.3mh in line on the positive wire http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/SDR1005-682KL/SDR1005-682KLCT-ND/2127199 which is .64 a piece. To me that with the drivers still seem within budget of 40. And as far as the Onkyo receiver, I like the option but as everyone else says look local at craigslist/goodwill first as you can't beat some of those deals. Justin248
I like the woofer, but not having experience with that tweeter makes my opinion just that. But if it was me and having used a few different types of tweeters, I prefer the sound of soft dome. I don't believe I have heard silk dome so I don't know anything about them, but my choice in tweeter would be http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=270-182 these seeing as how they handle about 50 wrms no problem. If you want I can upload a video of them in action so you can get a "feel" for them.
