jarrius Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 Going to get rid of my soundstream tx1.2000d to power hungry for what electrical I have in my sonic. So I was looking at getting the Rockford fosgate r-1200-1d to power my hdc-3. It should be good for it being a daily I think 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
Kyblack76 Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 Think youd be better off with your SS... SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
jarrius Posted May 25, 2013 Author Report Posted May 25, 2013 Think youd be better off with your SS...For power wise yea me to but I can't afford to upgrade the electrical in my car (also its brand new so I don't want to void the factory warranty) that and the rf should be better efficient on the power load it requires. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
CleanSierra Posted May 25, 2013 Report Posted May 25, 2013 What is the power load you're speaking of? What is the efficiency of the SS amp? If you're going to run 1 ohm to the Fosgate, efficiency should be around high 70s. Maybe you should get an amp that canbe run at a higher impedance, for example a class A/B amp at 4 ohms. An amp that can be bridged to 4 ohms and put out the power may be a better option. More costly than the Fosgate entry level amp, but still cheaper than doing a bunch of electrical upgrades. Have you considered adding a Big Group 31 battery instead to fix the voltage issue? A battery in the trunk can easily be removed later and not cause any damage or signs it was ever installed. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
jarrius Posted May 26, 2013 Author Report Posted May 26, 2013 Yea I have I just have heard a lot of things about this soundstream amp that they love power and needs a lot of it to do what it needs( just what I have heard) my woofer is also rated at 1k rms 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
