kadrek
So I have an '02 Dodge Neon, the rear deck and roof have been rattling for a while. It only rattles while low bass notes are being played, not while there are only short hard hits like in rock/metal music. I was thinking about taking the rear deck off and trying to figure out where it's rattling from and shoving some old socks or something in there to try to make it stop. Anyone have any experience with this? Any tips are appreciated, thank you!
trumpet1
You have the right idea. You need to take things apart and figure out what's actually rattling. Closed cell foam is a better thing to put between panels that are rattling, but if you want to try the socks it should work, too.
Airborne
I sprayed great stuff in between the deck lid and cover in my wife's car and it stopped that chit in a second...
Sergeant_Skyrim
When my rear deck used to rattle it was actually the 5x7's sitting in it that were rattling against the deck itself. Just stuck some slight foam between the speakers and deck and was good to go Build in progress
