4th order help

Recommended Posts

I am going to guess 3 ported would be louder (just a completely uneducated guess) based off of cone area. Bandpass can definitely be more efficient, but I don't know if it would be enough to counter the extra sub. Someone that actually knows something might step in here and correct me lol.

There is tons of good advice here. But no one will likely design a 4th for free. It is too hard to say exactly what will/won't work. Ported boxes are easy, bandpass seems to be trial and error unless you REALLY know what you are doing. I am in the process of designing one myself and it is somewhat difficult. I have ran so many sets of numbers through Torres, Bassbox Pro, and RE box that I finally reached the point where I am just going to build it and see what happens lol.

Also, 4th orders are larger (generally) than a normal ported enclosure. A ported box for my subs would be somewhere around 4 cubes. The 4th I am working on is going to be closer to 6 cubes.
