sublimemovement Posted June 4, 2013 Author Report Posted June 4, 2013 Where is this going ? OMG ! OP, I hope you'll take time to read some more on this good forum. Don't rush. You can learn a lot from people's posts. I would not run a 12" SA in a sealed box. But that's just my personal opinion. I do appreciate all of the input. I am defiantly not going to rush into this build. I want it to get done right the first time. lol I am putting it in the back of the SUV. I have also decided after reading other posts and looking at different boxes that i am going to do 2 12s and take up as much space as i need to. the kids can put the groceries in their lap. lol I hope I will continue to get some recommendations here though, it is bringing up questions that i would have not thought to ask.
Xaborus Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 Go ahead and ask any questions in this thread. I'll be happy to help you out
SilveradoDeath Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 personally, i think i would run 1 10sa in a fiberglass enclosure to maximize your space you have and get it custom formed to the vehicle. that way you also save truck space so you can do the shopping and everything. but then again how much bass do you want.
BoomZoom808 Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 I setup a single RE SE 10 sealed in an Mtx Thunderform and its more than enough for the wife and kids in her car but its not enough for me. I think if you want loud, going with 2 12's ported is on the right track. You can use aero ports to maximize enclosure volume as well. Just opt for subs that can perform well in a smaller vented enclosure. You can always put the groceries on top of the sub box or do a sub up/port back or sub up/port up enclosure and still have room for groceries. Chances are if you really need the whole trunk you will end up taking the box out anyway. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
ChrisB4 Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 If you do choose sundown, get 2 sa 12's in a ported box tuned to 32-34hz ( subwoofers up port up would be best, but you could also do subs up port back) and run them with 1200-1400 watts rms. If the sa 12's are alittle more then you want to spend, you could get the e 12's by sundown and run them on 1000 watts rms. if you don't want sundown you could look into subwoofers by DD (digital designs).
