Gshack
Has anyone had a subwoofer malfunction as a result of the subwoofers motor bolts backing out? I cracked the casing to a Lightning Audio Storm yesterday, due to the motor bolts backing themselves out and shifted the motor. I have never had this happen. SnowDrifter
Can't say I've ever had that happen. Sounds like it wasn't assembled properly/faulty product ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Purplehaze
Not anything on that lvl, but I had a motor shift on me yesterday, and for no reason. it just decided to move. So I feel ya. But those bolts should have had glue on them preventing them from backing out. Gshack
Thanks guys, I pulled the remaining two bolts from the motor and not a single bolt had any glue or fastening agent....so voice coil slammed into pole piece and scarred the aluminum former. No coil was blown only mechanical seizure?? Lame
