bassbang89
About to purchase a Brutus 1700.1d amp and it says it can be wired down to 1 ohm but didn't know you could wire a none amp down to 1 ohm. Is that possible and if so how? BASS_BANG
Noel989
What's none? And The wiring depends on the impedance of the coils and how many subs Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
81000D
Wtf is a none amp? Do you mean a mono amp? Yes that amp will take one ohm just fine. You get your ohm load by how you wire you subs coils.
wccfan12
I had this same amp and ran mine at 0.5 ohm daily on 4 skar vvx 12's and it worked fine and never protected or heated up too much so yes 1 ohm is fine. My buddy has the Brutus 2100 and crappy stock electrical and the amp is wired to 1 ohm. It doesn't even heat up playing even for long periods of time, but I did set the gain kinda low until he upgrades the elec though. ncochran
I am considering running my brz 2100 at .5 ohm... I will have to back the gain off some, but I clamped it at 2ohm and I am getting only around 900 to split between my sa12s and that just isn't enough for my taste lol. Am also thinking about doing something smarter and buying a bigger amp that I can get more power out of at 2 ohms. 2006 Scion xB 2 Sundown SA12D2 Ported at 32hz 147 on non termlab (140-142 on TL) Currently in a walled 4th @ 50hz (not metered yet) Hifonics brz2100 Alpine Type-S Components Kicker 300.2 Big 3 / Skyhigh 1/0 cca Optima Blue Top 3 e8s ported at 32hz 135.1 sealed on dash @ 56hz 135.0 outlaw (I must have chosen song poorly lol) Build log 'Brandon15zzz', on 09 May 2012 - 3:13 PM, said: May have been clipping but none fucks were givin. ncochran
That is the part where I said I may do the smarter thing lol and go 2200 @ 2ohms instead. My electrical will not handle the brz at .5 ohm most likely. It barely held it at 1.3 in the past. Trey_Dog650
Yeah well if you couldn't handle 1 ohm. Definitely don't do .5 ohm. Lifted2000Ford4x4
they will take .5 ohms all day, so 1 ohm is fine... that is what its rated for.
