bmertler Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 I am looking at upgrading amps, and I am looking currently at two amps, one being Rockford 500.1 PRIME, the other is the following http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7PWOalqYibo/p_110P20001D/Jensen-POWER-2000-1D.html What I want to know is are the Jensen amps any good havent heard much about them, I like the Rockford amp, but am looking at the jenson due to the power handling at 1 ohm giving me options to upgrade speakers later. Here are the claimed specs of the jenson mono subwoofer amplifier 425 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (675 watts x 1 at 2 ohms) 900 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm Class D design variable low-pass filter (40-300 Hz, 12 dB/octave) variable subsonic filter (10-40 Hz, 12 dB/octave) bass boost (0-12 dB at 45 Hz ) phase switch wired remote bass level control included preamp inputs and outputs 4-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier fuse rating: 35A x 3 11-1/4"W x 2-3/16"H x 8-1/8"D
HowLowCanYouGo Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Lol 2000 watt amp puts out 900 watts rms. No thats not a good amp lol. Unless you want 900 rms. Which when it comes down to it I bet doesn't even do that Nothing for now... Did you get that scar tissue when you got your vagina installed? I'd grab Adam's ass and look him in the eyes for a demo of nates truck.
wowfun2 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 I can guarantee that 900 RMS is at 1 Ohms unstable. You'd be lucky to get 300-500W at 4 Ohms stable. That thing even cost $200 is even a madly ripoff price. You're better off buying brutus hifonics models. 2 12 Kickers CVR | Kenwood 9105D @ 2 Ohms | Box tuned 39 hertz low custom | Nissan Maxima 01 SE 3.5 | I have no idea what my dB at "If you hear me Booming around the block then you better be prepared to call the police on me before I drive-by your house!" "Boom cars so goddamn loud it ridiculous, hey excuse me what about your fartcan back of your car vroom, vroom!"
bmertler Posted June 19, 2013 Author Report Posted June 19, 2013 Im just looking to run 500 Watts RMS, at what ohm rating I don't care. Since Im running 2 DVC rockfords I am able to wire at 1,2,4. Can pick one up new for 130$ but i see your point. just wondering what the best amp is for a stable 500-600 watts. I would assume the rockford 500.1 Prime puts out a little more then 500 just not sure if its what I want or need.
BoomZoom808 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Fuse rating looks positive i owned a Jensen 4 ch back In the day it was a decent cheap amp but pushed would overheat. Crutchfield has a 90 day return policy so if it sucks tell them and return it. The Rockford well the name speaks for itself. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
wowfun2 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Then Alpine MRP-M500 would do just the job for you. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-LDBHjkBYYLA/p_500MRPM500/Alpine-MRP-M500.html 2 12 Kickers CVR | Kenwood 9105D @ 2 Ohms | Box tuned 39 hertz low custom | Nissan Maxima 01 SE 3.5 | I have no idea what my dB at "If you hear me Booming around the block then you better be prepared to call the police on me before I drive-by your house!" ALPINE408 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 How are you able to run 1,2, or 4 ohms? Is there a new sub out there with swiitchable ohm loads I dunno about???? Have you ever had your woofers blown?
k3n12ock Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Sorry but Rockford's Prime series suck. And just because you have DVC subs does not mean you can wire to 1,2, or 4 automatically. If they are d2 you can wire 0.5 or 2. If they are D4 you have 1 or 4. You can't automatically wire to whatever you want load wise. 05 xB - (2) EVIL 18s - (2) BC3500s - NO WALL Channel 1: http://www.youtube.com/k3n12ock Channel 2: http://www.youtube.com/MrK3n12ock2
