CortezDTV Posted June 29, 2013 Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 I've used dupli color look at my mustang build long, Honestly if u don't have. 30gal+ compressor it's not worth it, hvlp guns spray at a max of 30 psi normally(mine is 29) I normally shoot at about 25 after trigger is pulled, The prep is more work than actually painting, by far! It you laid down a thick sands me primer you could prolly get a lot done, if u have a nice gun and compressor, but I would findsomeone local who can show you the steps of good bodywork and prep work, and get a buddy to help you, if you so it all urself like I did its a conplete pain in the ass! Yeah I was going to order a HVLP gun and use my bosses compressor. It's huge, probably 120 gallons. And I know how to do prep work, I'm just not experienced in it. The last time I used my bondo plane was for a boat 8 months ago lol. But I know how to fix all the rust and weld and use body filler and block and all that. My only problem was spraying. I was wondering about removing the body panels and then primering them separately and then blocking? How well would that work, I was worried about uneven coats I guess? But I'm not really sure.....
