Karkov
Go through build log to see the rest of the stuff I have had for a while that's on the list, lol. I got more stuff coming that is not on this list. I am keeping this build very simple, non-wall, just subs up and port back, box designed by CleanSierra here on the forum. Today's agenda is that I might remove the XS Power D4800 and D3400 from under the hood and stick the 2 D3100's in there (they have been proven to fit in both locations with slight modification). Also, I am in the process of getting the DC Power dual alt kit because mine is PCM controlled and I hate hot charging under 14 Current set up as of today (also gonna clean some wiring up under there) 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. TRON
Even consider using heat shields on your batteries? That might help the lower charging voltage, because I know that when the battery is hot the pcm drops the voltage. But it just seems like even in that case thing (I have seen them and know what you're talking about) that in the hot summer it's still gonna be sweltering under the hood for hours on end with or without them? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. goodvibez
Nice man lookin good can't wait to see how to fit the d3100's under there! Looking forward to more updates? Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! Karkov
Nice man lookin good can't wait to see how to fit the d3100's under there! Looking forward to more updates? Um, sure, lol. Ok, simplified the wiring some. Gonna have a second alt run the stereo that is not PCM controlled so the factory alt can go back into the stock location. Since that setup doesn't require anything special of a battery I put the D4800 over there as it's my smallest XS Power battery I have. On the other side of under the hood I will hook the second alt right onto the other under hood battery then use my runs to the back from there, thus 2 separate charging systems. Wasn't originally going to go that way but I think i will like it better. I have seen people stick a D3100 on the passenger side just have to move the coolant reservoir a little but I have no need for that anymore but I will have a D3100 on the other side which is nice because that side is much easier to fit one. Anyways, here are some updated pics. of the under hood progress today, only thing missing (apart from dual alt kit) is the cover for the fuse panel. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq.
