OPINIONS: old school EXACT 10 enclosure

Recommended Posts

building a box for Soundstream Exact 10s. The first version....

FS is 35 hertz

QES is .33

Qts is .32

Vas is 1.8

I used a Qtc value of .707

Using one of the online speaker calcs, I came up with the following

The speaker displacment is .1042 cubic feet and I came up with .8381 for a ported enclosure volume. So, I should be sitting right near a cubic foot for displacement with a 3" port of 9" long or 2" 3.5 inches long for each box. Is there any reason to use a larger or smaller port?

I listen to literally all types of music, 50's and 60's to newer hip hop. I do prefer slightly deeper, louder lows.

Anything else I should consider before building?

Edit: almost forgot, they will be getting 300 watts from the subwoofer side of a Soundstream 705S

Thanks Joe. 1965 Chevy Nova. I have a pair of 10s, but am willing to install just one.

I have dimensions of 40 X 12, at the bottom, 10, at the top X 12 inches tall if I install directly behind the seat firing forward.

Or I was also thinking about installing them into each side firing toward the center of the trunk. 21 X 12 X 7 in that instance per side.

For the area Im trying to install. I have 4 kids so I need some trunk space. The 12 inch deep part is up on the shelf behind the rear seat and below the package tray. Or, in either rear quarter behind the tires. I can get another pic tomorrow morning it that helps

Nice classic ride, only 12" deep in that trunk?
