Suicide P Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 I can't really find an answer so I'll quickly ask here. What are all the parts i will need to buy for a build in a completely stock 2008 honda civic? Including materials for box, wire, everything! Please include a link This should be firing backwards because that seems easier. List so far- -2 Sundown SA12's -1 hifonics brz1700.1 (can't find a place to order from link would be helpful (newer model is okay if it is as good) -1 board of MDF
WastedTalent Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 my opinion, if you're asking for list of materials... you don't know enough to do it. cause you're looking at a very expensive project here that will take a long time. Sheena = pedobear

No. I pretty much know what i need. I was just curious which ones you all preferred. Like how much knukonceptz 1/0 will i need? what type of speaker wire. Do i need a line out converter? Which type of screws and glue for the box? and a little opinion on if the stock electrical can handle it and i need to do the big 3... blah blah blah
BigManAC Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 If you haven't already I would first start with the headunit and that in itself will set you back around $60 for that mounting bracket and wiring. Other than that i would go with SkyHigh Audio 1/0 gauge power cable (about 20' in all for amp) because they have a higher strand count and same for speaker wire if they have it. 8 or 10 gauge speaker wire should do you fine for that amp and sub. Just make sure you buy really good RCA's though. For the box I use Liquid Nails Foamboard glue which works great, some people use the Loctite version because it is better but also a couple bucks more. I used 1.5'' drywall screws for my boxes and didn't have any splits and it holds great, just make sure to pre-drill and countersink them. As for the stock electrical should be able to handle it if you upgrade all of the needed parts and components. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw

Omega5002 Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 -Enough wire for the Big 3, preferably OFC and Sky High -Titebond wood glue for the box- Carpet - Machine screws for the subs- Biggest agm you can fit in the engine bay since 1700 rms will be a lot for the stock alt, and a lead acid will not like it. - Maybe techflex for the big 3 to make it look nice- Zip/Cable ties- Heatshrink- Ring terminals or copper lugs(preferably tinned to prevent corrision, 2/0 for 1/0 sky high) - Rca's, you can find decent ones on parts-express- Voltmeter(stinger is popular)- Headunit or good quality low level converter if you wanna keep the stock headunit- Sound deadening for the rattles- Hydraulic crimper if you want proper crimps- Propane/MAPP torch, flux, solder, and a vice if you want to do a proper soldering jobHonestly, I could keep going on, but the most important thing is having patience, and taking the time to do everything correctly 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
BigManAC Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 And if you didn't want to carpet the box there is always the rhino line option. That's what I did on my recent box. Also invest in a good quality soldering iron or small blowtorch and solder your wires to ensure a solid connection. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
