My subes were not working I was like what the hell. So I get out to my trunk. everything is getting power and should be working. My dad walks out and goes. 95neon_thumper82 Posted July 3, 2013 Author Report Posted July 3, 2013 i went to mates place one, he just brought a new amp hocked it up and nothing, drove back to the shop, they checked it with a dmm, he unclipped it and they gave him another, he went home and refitted it, and the same thing, so i told him idd have a look, i put my dmm on it and thought maybe the amp, then i saw the (-) in front of the 12.x and relised that because his (+) and (-) were both brown cables he just put the pos and earth the wrong way around twice whats the odd 50% chance and both the same way ALWAYS USE TWO COMP DIFFERENT COLORS OF WIRES. lmno... it takes the confusion out when I decide to smoke during an install I had a similar happening as far as replacement of an amp then finding that my ground was more poor than a Chicago bum <img src=http://i1332.photobucket.com/albums/w610/beastly666bassboy/IMG_9611192581855_zps9b9b76be.jpg border=0 alt= height="75" width="800"> Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option! When I put the battery in the tray I made I connected the cables...then went to intsll the fuses in the fuse holders. Blew in my hands before I could even get it partially in...melted the fuse holder and ruined it too. I was like wtf is the deal...threw the meter on it..got 12v. I could not figure it out....I was so fucking pissed it was almost 1am and I was tired as hell. Left it until the next morning...took about 5seconds to realize my dumbass..in my tired state..had wired pos to neg on the second batt....probably because I put the batt in the holder 180* from where it was supposed to be.
