95neon_thumper82 Posted July 11, 2013 Report Share Posted July 11, 2013 okay on my 95 neon its got the 2.0 with an auto tranny. after I drive a bit like today I drove ~35 miles with no problem. shut it off and let it sit for about 20 minutes then drove it back home. same distance. and when I got about 2 blocks from the house she started running rough off the stop. she kinda spit and sputtered got up to speed and it still ran sorta rough but it still drove. now I thought it was an over heat problem so I checked the fans. they weren't coming on so I checked the relay and the temp sensor. I replaced them both. other wise I would have had this trouble on my way to work. I'm going to do a radiator flush on it just to make sure the heat transfer is proper. but I'm wondering if it may not be something else. Skullz Posted July 11, 2013 Report Share Posted July 11, 2013 Do the keycode dance and get your codes to find out where the problem lies, Turn your ignition on and off 3 times quickly and leave it in the on position and watch your engine light to see what codes it gives you, then go to neons.org and look up those codes to see what needs fixing or replacing. My car would run rough at times and normal at other times till i replaced the map sensor. EDIT: http://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?f=125&t=281606 hmmm actually I can one up you on that one... last time I did the keydance it said my 02 sensor I replaced the front ine already the rear one may be bad yet... now I'm not sure now but now my dad has just gotten an obd1 and obd2 reader so I'm hooking that up tonight and check it... thanks for the input...
