And finally the first door is finished and deadened, opinions?

Service holes were taped with some "SPL Tape" (roofers aluminum tape, $24 per 50M roll), a cut out of 3mm MDF was put in place and taped over, then a layer of Shok Mat was also laid on top

Oh, and a quick video to show the difference Shok Mat makes, solid as a rock!

Hey guys, deadened the drivers door in a day and a half (half day was cleaning the mofo), pics below!

Before, when I took the door trim off and before cleaning.


Then onto deadening!





And the final result, quite solid!


Then bought the final things to install the 4 channel amp, more progress tomorrow hopefully.
There was no black 4 gauge so I just got all red for the time being but will change eventually.

How big are those tubes?

Twin 8" tubes my friend, currently tuned to 37Hz.

To tune higher all we need to do is cut 30mm off each tube to go up 1Hz

First off, we chopped the port so it was tuned to 39Hz, at the last SOSS event last weekend I managed a 144.7db at 49Hz run then a 30 second average of 143.6db, came second in Advanced class and the Street Ground Pounder "Coil Cooker"


Then today was MEASQ Round 3 at Coinslot Enterprises, beautiful weather, great snags for lunch and a all round great day to hang with mates
Won Judges Choice as well, I'll take that one!!




My eyes have been widened waaay open to the World of SQ now, so it has definitely given me motivation to get my door pods finished to run the SB17's and get the a-pillars ready for fabrication!

Proper update time!!

So yeah, as you know I've got some proper battery power up front, nothing for the back, for now

Now with quitting my job at the supermarket I now have a full time job at a sheet metal workshop, being able to get my hands on plenty of off cuts and scraps, my boss made me a battery box within 4 minutes made out of 2mm Aluminum, thank f*ck he's a car audio nut as well!

With the test and tune night we had last week, we had to cut the port down to get higher tuning, we cut a bit far so we came up with the idea of the re-sizeable port length, measuring about 150mm long so it gives us plenty of options, made out of 1.6mm Galvanized steel

With a competition coming up we made a last minute change to put me in a different class so I could win something at least!

A mates 1500W RMS amp installed, results speak for themselves with a burp

Then finally at the competition I won!

Only being allowed to play music I still scored a 145.6 with a special, non edited song that has worked wonders

Didn't get a picture of the 145.6 but it was official and set a new record
