skar ivx-15v1 enclosure design

Ok the skar design..and I'm new to this stuff so I could be wrong.

Its outside dims are

28"wide

17.5" tall

20" deep

Ive came up with the port being

3.5" wide through-out its length

16" tall

According to my math, the port center line is

28.375 or 28 3/8 long.

So i came up with 6264in or 3.625 cubic feet net chamber volume and 1589in or .92 cubic feet of port volume.

I don't know enough to make use of these figures and tell if this is good or bad.

Should i use this design?

Why don't you use Torres calculator? I find that much easier to use then slaving over math calculations.

I would recommend 3.5 cubes tuned to 33hz with around 36 to 42.5 sq in of port (which puts you at 10-11 per)

The ivx has very little xmax, so you don't need a lot of port to get it moving, and you maintain good output while having great range.

I would recommend 3.5 cubes tuned to 33hz with around 36 to 42.5 sq in of port (which puts you at 10-11 per)

The ivx has very little xmax, so you don't need a lot of port to get it moving, and you maintain good output while having great range.

You don't think he would encounter some port noise going that low?

Nope, that's how much I had on each of my ivx 15's

Btw, got that off a calculator based off the Loudspeaker cookbook, I input the SD,Xmax, and tuning, and gave me a minimum port area, which was 36 sq in.

That's not, bigger enclosure allows for lower tuning while retaining output.
