RCA output voltage question

Recommended Posts

I currently have an old Alpine ida with virtually no equalizing options. If i were to add an equalizer with 7 volt RCA outputs to my amps, would it damage my Rockford T1500 and 400-2 if i turned the gains down (both have gains set halfway)?

Depending on the crossover unit, you should be able to lower the 7v to say 3-4v, and be good to go.

But as far as too much voltage damaging it, i have no clue, i have always tried to stick to keeping output voltage inside the input sensitivity range.

this is kind of hypothetical, since i dont actually have a 7v eq in hand, but ill try to see if you can change the output voltage on the ones i was looking at. Either way i appreciate the feedback
