FCS530 Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 I promised a quick review and some pics of this stuff. I don't have any numbers and honestly I haven't dealt with many others to compare. I did help a friend install dynamat in an old riviera many years ago. This stuff is much thicker than that was. And I happen to know it is at least twice the thickness of peel N seal. The Q-Mat that I got was from their b-stock inventory on ebay. It was a 16 square foot "trunk" kit for $56 shipped. My intention was to try to eliminate as much of the vibration as possible in the roof of my civic. The metal of the roof is very flimsy behind the sunroof and I was actually developing a crack. The material is very sticky and rather soft and pliable (although it was 105 in the shop today). The foil backing is very thick and actually seems to "stretch" quite a bit when trying to form it into cavities. After the installation of the Q-Mat this evening I took it for a ride and cranked up the system. I would say that the amount of movement is about 1/4 of what it was before. I would say it was very successful and exceeded my expectations. I had enough left over to do my trunk lid as well. And I even got some extra "swag" in the box! Pics to follow!
