DylanBunch Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 So im looking into buying an mb quart onyx 800.4 (http://www.mbquart.com/mbquart_onyx_amplifiers.html). Now as stated in my signature, I have 4 Rockford fosgate pro mids rated at 100 rms so on channels 1/2 Im gonna run at 2 ohms giving 400 watts total to all 4 mids which is rms power and on channels 3/4 will be 1 crescendo ft1 per channel at 8 ohms. My question is, do these amps do more than rated power? And I don't mean like a few watts hear an there, like does 200x4 at 2ohms mean 300x4 at 2ohms? I would hate to buy this and blow all my speakers cause I just got them a few months ago 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
hazestorm23 Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Mb quarts amps are made my maxxonics so pretty much a hifonics amp and they tend to do rated never heard of them doing anything way over the top as to do 100 watts more than rated.
