Ported Enclosure help for 10" Mojo

Recommended Posts

3/4" box with double baffle (1.5" total thickness)

Not sure how the plexi would be best installed, I was thinking attach a metal frame to the plexi and flush mount it in inside the box and caulk it with clear silicone.

There is an add right at the top of this website for plexi, online might be your only option for that thickness

Here's a link to the build I was talking about, no lights but he will be putting a 6" aeroport on the back of his box for his 2 10"s, subs facing trunk and port firing into cabin. He will let us know how it sounds

forgot to add link lol?

I'm so sorry dude, thought I had link in there http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/171650-95neon-thumper82s-dgaf-neon/

Current port might be 4"x3" but 1 port 13"X5" is not only more port, it would use 3 common port walls which lowers the tuning without making the port longer, which also improves airflow.

As for your idea for the double rear baffle with the window, here's an idea for you http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169586-amart88s-2dr-blazer-4-zcon-18s-walled-painting-started/page-12

Yeah, nice thing about aero's, they're expensive but save room, I myself am going to use a single 6" aero externally for my DC LVL 4 15" in a 3.25 ft^3 box to save room, and should increase port velocity as well

sorry for late reply, been out of town and my laptop burned its CPU lol.

anyways box build been put on hold, i am trying to save and just have everything upgraded all together, I'm now on the hunt for a EQ that can give better use of the 200-350hz ranges! i find nearly everything i listen to has some for instrument that's in that range and very hard to bring forth over the deep lows and highs. find that 350hz on head-unit somewhat brings it out but not enough for it to sound as nice i wish.

also on hunt for a good amp want to get speakers on at least a even 60-80watts, don't need extreme as that's reason why i already have speakers meant for audiophile without high wattage!

Ah, a lot of guys here would recommend Clarion EQ's http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6655_Clarion-EQS746.html?SearchClickout[query_id]=22845413&SearchClickout[ignore]=1

Also not sure if you use http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ yet but they are great and reliable to buy from

actually recently stopped buying from them cause of horrible RMA service on last 3 items i purchased from them :/

had bad luck with receiving items that were DOA.

been using local shops that cut out the middle man and charge what they pay to get it. also using http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/

been getting things from them for nearly 30-70% off original prices! was surprised and skeptical about buying from them cause of just prices

alone, but hasn't had a single issue with anything yet.

also was thinking of that EQ everyone swears on its greatness. i'v seen them in many the shops around my area and know what they can do, im just trying to figure out if its the 250 or 325 range i need to bring out the instrumentals of what i listen to. in my car on the deck its 350 that brings them out just a tad bit, and on my home theater system its the 250dead even that brings them out the most.

Ooh, sorry to hear that man. I have personally use Onlinecarstereo.com before, they are good until you need there cs, then you get that guy who doesn't give a fuck about his job or you, and makes it super obvious. Let's just say I now deal with Sonic, lol.

To each their own, but no matter where you buy from there will always be an issue.

Also for the crossover range you are looking at 2 different environments, so the car might be the 350 range. That Clarion will pick up the curve at 315hz, which will effect most ranges from 125-750 with a 12db slope, I am sure that will pick up the range you require

Ok so after testing the frequency ranges, I'm find snares/bongos/and some piano notes are in the 250-315 range, how ever to much of the 315 range brings out overkill on the bass guitar and can sound very distorted and overwhelming.
