Erik Berggren
New here and I hope I can find some help . I have a 2005 acura tl. Just installed a alpine type x 12" on a hifonics zrx3000. I also have a dd-1 to use in tuning. I have hooked up several systems but always with new deck. My acura needs to keep the factory HU so I used a Line out converter. I wired into the factory 8" sub wires. I did some research and found the stock HU puts out a bad signal and or a tampered signal? Also read i would need some kind of processor to fix this or tap pre factory amp? or maybe its the rinky dink LOC i picked up from a local shop. The dd1 picks up distortion at like level 10 of 40 with eq flat. then i tune the amp to that and it is too quite. Crank up the deck and amp level and it puts out some sound. I just want to make sure it is right and im not distorting my sub. But im confused. anyone have any experience with the TL? Thanks , Erik

Kyblack76
You need to tap into the sub out put... You just go willey nilley, you may tap into a signal, that is band passed that will make a low end want, no good. Feel me? Car audio systems these days, are "smart". To smart.. shit.. You need to find, and tap into a signal, that will allow you to get the band(s) you are looking for.... I love the Tl shape. Love it.... great lookin sedan... IMHO (i had a TSX build that i loved, and NOW, wish i still had) Good luck SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
Erik Berggren
It seems like im going to have to tap the hu source pre amp and use a line driver to boost the signal. Now i have to hunt down where to splice into that pre amp signal.

Kyblack76
Best case, is BEFORE the OEM amp,, just after the HU. You want a signal, (you can search online for correct pin out) that is NOT band passed, or fucked with....... at least, not dicked with for what you want... (30hzish - 90hz ish) feel me? And hell ya,.. lets see the ride.. Ive ALWAYS dug on a TL... yep..
