lights dimmiing when my bass is hittin

well part of your problem is that power basterd alt that alt is a pos i knew someone else who had one and they had a good battery bank for their setup but still dropping to the 11s

ask him how he set the gains. smd dd-1 or oscilloscope are the only right answers. anything else is basically incorrect.

$500 for a universal alt? wtf lol. why couldn't you have just gone with a reputable brand thats made to fit your car, like mechman or dc power?

wassup man . I did what you told me to do. while the car was on (idle) put the multimeter on the amp terminals it read 14.something . normal I guess. then with my bass hittin it came down to 10 .something. it went as low as 9.81 . soon as the bass went off it went back up gradually to 14.something. doesn't sound good does it .

holy. shit. do NOT play your system loudly anymore. i swear to god. i honestly dont know how your amplifier isn't dead yet from seeing 9v. thats ungodly low.

your alt is probably shit and isn't outputting nowhere near its rated power. i know a guy on here (rocket43606 i think is his username) with a mechman 270 with a sundown ns-1 and he holds 14's while driving with 4 batts in the trunk.

edit: if you can, get your money back from that company and go with something better.

or you can have your alt load tested somewhere. but most of those regular stores like oreillys and autozone might only have testers capable of pulling 100 amps or so. so there is no way to tell unless some shop or someplace has a load tester that can do a few hundred amps.

6500watts rated power and a POS 220 amp alt and you expect no dimming?

Can i have some of what you are smoking?

In order to have no dimming w/o drop you will need 500-600 amps worth of charging from GOOD alternators to maintain a voltage that wont have your voltage falling off enough to notice dimming and thats with the engine reved up.

hey kranny kandiman is probably right. i do have a piece of shit alt. ive heard it several times already. but remember i only have 1 d3100 in the back. i don't think one is enough. shoudnt it go that low with only 1 battery or does 1 d3100 hold 14.something if i had that meckman 270. bare with me guys. this is why i joined this forum. trying to do this shit right with you guys help. actually im starting to like this forum a lot. i haven't got off it since i joined. by the way kandi it has nothing to do with the smoke. im a fuckin noobee.
