kjstoken360 Posted August 13, 2013 Author Report Posted August 13, 2013 If you cannot exchange the 4 ohm sub, sell it and buy another dual 2 ohm. You can then wire properly and end up with a 2 ohm final load. OMFG Now i have to sell my 4ohm sub that i bought earlier and get a 2 ohm sub just so i can get a 2ohm impedance for 2 of the subs 2005 chevy tahoe heated seats dvd player sunroof 2 kicker 15 in solobarics 1 zx1500.1 amplifier sirius xm radio with bose system

bkolfo4 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 With DVC 2 ohm, you series the coils on each sub making each sub 4 ohms. Then parallel the 2 subs to the amp making a final load of 2 ohms. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Also i figured out that to figure out the ohms you just do{ (ohm x ohm) / (ohm+ohm) } So with the two 2 ohm dvc subs hooked up to 4 ohm each you get 4x4/4+4 which would be 2 Ohms altogether. But you probably already know this. 2005 chevy tahoe heated seats dvd player sunroof 2 kicker 15 in solobarics 1 zx1500.1 amplifier sirius xm radio with bose system

bkolfo4 Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 The proper formula for resistance in parallel is: 1/R + 1/R + . . . + 1/R = 1/R (total) 1/4 + 1/4 = 2/4 = 1/2 R (total) = 2 Your formula would not work with (3) 4 ohm subs: (4x4x4)/(4+4+4) = 5.3 is incorrect It really is: 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 = 3/4 = 1/1.33 R (total) = 1.33 Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

I just saw that formula and thought it was right. Thanks for the new formula. 2005 chevy tahoe heated seats dvd player sunroof 2 kicker 15 in solobarics 1 zx1500.1 amplifier sirius xm radio with bose system
