UBL: Lbox88's 2009 Equinox

Recommended Posts

Got home before the wife did so I took some time and worked on the box. Had to get a cars wash on the way home first though:

Then cut the back plate out of the leftover MDF I had and cut up the dowel braces.

IMG_2957.jpg

Flipped the box over and sanded the port, kinda rounding it over

Added the back plate

Put in the front to back brace

Will work on this more later, I can feel it getting closer but yet so far away...

Well, put the last side of the port on and put the top baffle on just to look at it. Going to Lowes in the morning on my way to work to pick up some more orbital sanding discs and try to see if I can get a big compass to mark out the circle for where the subs will mount. Also nee to get measurements from the sketchup to get close to sub and dowel placement. On with the pics:

So I started working on the baffle last night, battery on my jig saw died very prematurely and I didn't get far. Was also very slow going, so I went out and bought a router.

Since it was late, I chose not to cut the top and instead, cut and soldered all the wire for the subs.

Subs are being wired to 2 ohms each and then in parallel to 1 ohm.

Got it in and working. Didn't really listen too much since it's 2:30 here. All I can say is it is already significantly louder lol.

After unhooking and moving some stuff

Getting it in the back was a biiiiiiiiiitch by myself. The guy living with us left today to get ready for tomorrow's wedding and I thought he was going to be here :(
