graham0599
6ga speaker wire i got for $5! It had to be trimmed a tad to fit the post terminal. I might change to direct leads Can see it was trimmed to about 8-10ga Threaded inserts for the removable trim piece My bolt layout Bolt layout 4 bolts per side Box wires Subs mounted, Very tight fit RCA running, heatsrunk connection so wires can't pull out RCA in amp area Rear battery ground Rear battery's mocked in Underhood battery with new terminals, still need to finish Big 3, + from alt-batt Factory batt ground, also has a 1/0 ground but no pic Lastly, the box in the car! graham0599
Now currently it is playing but only on one 1600 at 1ohm. Initial amp rack didn't fit with batts once wires were in so i said fuck it! Going to finish the substage pretty soon so i can have two 1600's at 2ohm each. 1600 does 1200 at 2 ohm. Going to be able to drop wiring to 0.5 ohm though just for burping. Not going to ever do 0.5 daily though. Also, pretty finalized on my front stage MB Quart 1000.4 - each channel at 2ohm 2 sets of DB Drive S9 components 2- SQ SDC2.0D4 8's Each door is going to have 2 6.5's similar to 1 8" in each kick similar to And 2 tweets in each a-pillar similar to: I'm going to wrap the sail panel in carbon fiber vinyl though so the stock tweet hole will to covered/flush My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678
Smoove
Those subs should do OK in a Z box. The way the front panel of the box is pretty much sealed under the strut bar, it makes the back end of car kind of a 4th BP. The area is by the cars design and the box style tunes it to around 50hz. 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/

Correct! It sounds amazing as is, I'm going to add a second baffle though to make the subs flush mounted and flush with the entire strut bar. It'll look a lot better. Later down the road I may opt to give up my trunk space/spare tire for a bigger ported box. As of right now though it is loud and sounds good so i'm happy. But we all know, builds never end. graham0599
Thought i'd also point out, the "RCA's" Are actually coax cables. Chose them because of extra shielding, thicker gauge. They have seemed to work really well. The better test is when the front stage is done. Smoove
I thought that cable looked weird. Hopefully it doesn't mess with the sound. graham0599
They seem to sound great right now! Only downfall is they aren't very flexible. Smoove
Well the finals were held in AZ today, my Z is about to go SQ. I might have to test your coax wiring soon. I have crescendo mids and tweets on the way and a 360.3. Maybe the shielding will make up for the lack of flexibility. 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
graham0599
I'm about to go through your build log. On the coax cable, i used a coax with RCA screw on adapters. If I were to do it again, I'd probably to coax cable straight to a soldered on RCA. graham0599
So i have a question guys, what do you think I should do for my Mids and Highs. #1: 1 set of Crescendo Mezzo's #2: 1 set of Crescendo Mezzo's in factory location with SDC 8's in kicks #3: 2 set DB Drive S9 components, glassed pods on doors, SDC 8's in kicks, tweets in a-pillars 1- cheapest, easiest, and factory looking 2- Going to require fiberglass 3- possible better SQ, highly expensive, very time consuming. There's more pros and cons to each of course, so help me out guys My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678
