N9neMillahhh
I have a Zv4 10 coming in a few weeks and i currently have a hifonics BRX2k and i've been wanting to upgrade. its a D2 so a 1 ohm load. and on another thread someone said that his Zv3s dont get enough power from a SAZ3500Dv2, so i was wondering what you guys think would be safe to run, i was thinkin a SAZ2500...but any suggestions or ideas would be dope too... mrd6
All depends on your application. Thermally we all know that they can take a lot more clean power than they are rated for. But if you aren't confident in your box or experienced enough to know when you are pushing it too much i would say a single 2500 would be a great match Quote My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
mrd6
Basing this off of a buddy of mine who just did a setup with the z4s on the same power and it seems to be working well Quote My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
TRTC360
don't buy into all the hype about underpowering, overpowering, yada yada. Build box according to spec, and run rated power, it's there for a reason. N9neMillahhh
I had Buck design me a box off 2kw and he said that if I bumped up power by that much it wouldn't matter due to the box, so I'm confident in the box. He's a pro and gets all the credit besides building the box. Although I'm not all that experienced I feel like I would know when I'm pushin it too hard. Even then I could back down the gains till it handled better, right? TRTC360
besides loudness (barely) what do you think you'll gain going from a 2000 watt amp to a 2500 watt amp? if you really think it won't be enough power, just build the box slightly larger, it's that simple, no need to sell your amp and buy another for just 500 watts or whatever you plan on getting. bdog
i agree with TRT . even if the saz puts out 1000rms more its not going to make a huge difference. i say run the 2000 and if you notice your wanting to push it into clipping all the time then maybe look into a saz-2500 Quote REP
N9neMillahhh
But I won't be sending a clipped signal...and I already know sundown is a better amp than Hifonics, plus I might be adding another one, and sundowns can be ran at .5 ohm. Higher efficiency, cleaner power/signal, fan cooling, and if I build the box larger than tht puts the sub at risk for unlinear excursion and throw, potentially really fucking it up.
