Wicks
Who remembers the good ol' cassette tape? http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/12/tech/innovation/cassette-tape-50th-birthday/index.html?hpt=hp_c4 Many of you youngin's probably missed out on cassette tapes and were born into CD's. When I first started in car audio, those little "laser discs" were just getting somewhat popular but they and their players were WAY too expensive to even consider as a high school kid. So I joined "Columbia House" and got my initial shipment of like 15 cassette tapes and my addiction to music took off from there. All you kids and your iPods should feel very lucky. Back then I used to lug around a cassette tape case of all my favorite cassettes. The case held 120 tapes and weighted probably a good 25lbs. Now you simply bring up your favorite song on your iPod and hit play.....boom instant music. Back then one of the coolest features on the latest cassette decks were ones that could detect the dead space between songs and would automatically stop the fast forwarding. Plus the magic "DNR" button to reduce the "tape hiss". The biggest dread though was really wanting to hear a certain song. You toss in the cassette and realize that you have to rewind the whole tape to get to it.......... Wicks
There is another thread for old school tunes, but I think this is appropriate: This post sent with 100% recycled electrons. 2004 BMW M3Mechman 280A 2 - XS Power XP30001 - XS Power D375 500F of Maxwell SuperCaps (soon to be 1000F) iPadMini2Dash mounted O-scopeAudison bitOne (Remote DRC MP) Highs Amp - PPI Art A404 Hertz HSK130 (HSK165 waiting...)
