Bedliner Entire Truck

Okay so If you seen most 98-03 rams they are all chipping everywhere did you have any chipping if so did you only sand chipping parts to smooth or did you sand off clearcoat and all of truck? i was thinkign of sanding only cipping /rusted parts, and then leaving the good looking parts alone sanding wise just clean with alcohol? and did u use rough or smooth paint

If its the duplicolor u have to sand all with 80-160 grit and clean with a prep wipe or alcohol. It takes a minimum of 4 coats to get a good even look the is semi rough. Check my build last page and ull see whay I did with my bed. That was 1 full can for just the 4 coats of caps. Whole truck will need 10-15 cans to get an ok coat 20 ish to get a great 5coat or more layer. At $15 a can that's up to $300 I'd just get real bedliner or look into the roll on kits. A few kits or maybe 2 gallons will do the whole truck and bed probably.

If ur not looking for rough bedliner the other option is undercoat. Its basically bedliner without texture.

Undercoat that was the name of the stuff lol I thought it was bedliner I wanted to do the truck in undercoat

Ehh. Mine cracked pretty bad. U gotta do a lot of proper prep to make it last

best thign to use to sand? orbital sander?

If its an actual orbital. Not an air one sure. Sand blast maybe. But an orbital should be good or hand sand in straightish lines.

so not an air orbital an electric one should b used? hand sanding is a no go, tried that before lol im too weak xD 6'3 and 120 pounds lol

Ya I'd try electric. Air might work if its bot a random orbital but more like a grinder. The air I got is a random and it just vibrates on tg e paint no spinning.
