Forget the plastic routers and roll your own... got a decent old PC laying around to sacrifice for routing? throw the free version of Untangle on it and get a good switch and AP. I ditched them and took this route and my connections are always reliable and fast. Granted you need to have a bit of extra room for the extra equipment.
