regular cab truck ideas

I have a 95 Chevy regular cab pickup. Not big into the full blown system building but have a little jl sub setup with alpines in the doors and cab pillars. I was looking for as much output as possible within a decent price range. I currently have 1 jlw1v3 12 in a sealed truck box with a jl jx500 amp. I'm running 4 awg power and ground all the way to the alt. I'm wanting to know would I be better going with a premade ported box for my 1 12 or jump to 2 12s and a dual ported box with bigger amp. Wht kind of systems have y'all seen perform the best in a regular cab behind the seat setup for reasonable cost. Thanks!

CleanSierra is just finishing up on his isobaric 15's in his. Very Very "clean" work.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

You could post a help topic on here if it's your first time.

But if you want to do it yourself you can just look up your sub on the manufactures website to find the suggested box net volume.

Torres box calculator is a good start for learning box building and is free.

To help calculate port area and length you can use this.

don't think my replies are popping up but do u think I should stick with the single 12 or go bigger. im wanting to stick with the less than 6 inch mounting depth because my seat is already 2 far up and the w1 are the shallowest thing I know that still sounds good

I wouldn't do anything bigger than a 12" if you have the same kind of space I do.

I have roughly just over 2.5 cubes of space before displacements if I want to stay under my trim piece. A ported enclosure usually need to be 2-2.5 cubes after displacements.

The JL 10w3v1 doesn't act well in a ported enclosure, it doesn't even have a recommended volume for it.

If staying with that sub you will need a sealed enclosure around 0.55 net cubic feet.

What are the dimensions you have to work with?

And I saw you said premade box, that mean you building one is out of the question? Cause you could possibly do a slanted box depending on dimensions, to help get the right space behind seats.
