Quick question that confuses me

To run your amp at 2 ohms (is this what you mean by get the most out of your amp?) and still maintain stereo sound, you would have to run 2 sets of components, or whatever type of speaker you want, per channel.

Ok, so I am running an Mmats E600.4 channel amp on 4 JBL 6x9s now. I want to ditch those, and run a better pair of 6.5 comps just up front. The amp is rated 60 x 4rms @4ohm stereo. So what ohm & rms speaker should I be looking at if I only wanted to run 2, and get the most out of that amp? It is 2 ohm stereo stable. Oh, and how would I wire that also?

You only want to run 2 as in 1 set (pair) of components, or 2 sets?

Never thought about running 2 sets upfront, but I guess it is an idea. I didn't really want to try my hand a fiberglass door work. lol Would it just be easier to sell my amp and get a 2 channel?

Odd how it gives a 2 ohm x 4 power rating but in a different column it says it's only stable down to 4 ohms.

Hmm.

This is just my .02 but I am always leery of stuff like that.

Yeah, I saw that to. I e-mailed them and this is the reply.

The amplifier is rated at:

60 x 4 rms @4ohms stereo

The amplifier is 2 ohm stereo stable.

Thank you for considering MMATS Pro Audio.

I'm good. I think for now I will just upgade the front door speaker to 6.5 comps, leave the 6x9s in the rear, keeping the amp running 4ohms. I don't want to cut up my door panels to add 2 sets up front....yet. Thanks for the help.
