bfox10 Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 i have a few questions on how to should i install a sub and 2 channel i just bought. I already have a 4 channel 700 watt sony xplode running my 4 menace voice speakers that are 100 wats rms. I want to know how should i install a 3000 watt mono d class amp to a 15 inch menace sub thats 1000 rms then have the 4 channel to power all my highs? i was told by the guy who sold me them to me to take my 4 gauge to the 2 channel and take 10 gauge from the same place i put the 4 gauge into the 2 channel to connect the 2 channel to the 4 channel's power. then ground the 2 channel and 4 channel. i don't know if that will work but he told me to do it and he said thats the way he would do it. i just want to know if that way will work and is it ok and safe to do it that way? i would also like to apologize before hand if this is in the wrong section cause i am still fresh to this forum.

If your 4 channel has 4 ga inputs, put 4ga into it. If you bass amp has 1/0 gauge inputs, put 1/0 into it. what brand is the "3000w 2 channel"? CleanSierra Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 Use distribution blocks for power and grounding points. You will want a fused distribution block for your power wires. Single power from the battery in the front to dual out for each amp. I would suggest ANL style fusing for the distribution blocks. I would do single 1/0 in and dual 4 gauge out. For the ground distribution block, do the same. Single 1/0 gauge in and dual 4 gauge out. If your amp accepts 1/0 gauge, do a 1/0 gauge in. I'm unfamiliar with the specific requirement you're running. Are there onboard fuses onthe Mono amp? If so, what are the ratings and how many are there? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
bfox10 Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 yea i knew what that guy was telling me wasn't gonna work it was way too much power for those tiny wires but yea I'm goin to use a 1/0 gauge now from my battery to a fused distribution block and have two 4 gauges wires to have one for each amp. then ground the amps. what fuse should i get for the distribution block (like strength wise)? does that sound like it will be better? also i need to find a good 1/0 gauge wire kit for around 50 or 60 if u guys have any advice on that as well
