boostin302 Posted October 16, 2013 Report Share Posted October 16, 2013 so i am needing to hook up my 220v stick welder, i have a 40 amp double pole breaker for it and am needing wire to run from the socket i installed to the breaker. its about a 15ft run, What gauge wire do you guys think would work well? i was thinking around maybe a 50 amp wire ( that way the wire doesnt catch fire, trips breaker first). its a old lincoln stick welder, 220v. 40-220 setting.
