nicor6 Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 hey guys..I have seen a lot of 4th order enclosures lately on the forums and on youtube and it looks like everybody is happy with 4th orders, I have tried searching around and it seems if you get the design wrong it can really sound like crap and damage equipments..Well here in my country i have NEVER personally heard or seen any 4th order systems..I really want to try one and experiment... can somebody help out with a design? it will be for a 12" pioneerTS-W310S4if theres any designers willing to help i would really appreciate it!
bbeljefe Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 That sub will probably do well in a 4th but since Pioneer isn't forthcoming with all the TS parameters for their subs, it's pretty much a trial and error affair to build a box for them. Here's a starting point: For SPL; Vr = .75ftⁿ Vf = 1.5ftⁿ Fb = 43 Hz Vent = 12.5in² (4" PVC) x 9.15" For SQ; Vr = 1.5ftⁿ Vf = .75ftⁿ Fb = 43 Vent = 7in² (3" PVC) x 11.25" Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
CleanSierra Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 Don't forget to mention to not fire the sub directly at the port to avoid possible unloading Offset that port so it isn't in the path Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
nicor6 Posted October 20, 2013 Author Report Posted October 20, 2013 thank you for the help guys! can anyone of you offer a design that you think will work well? i know it consume time to make a design so i wouldnt mind if it comes up with a fee
bbeljefe Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 I'm sorry, I don't do cut sheets. I'm an old man who's been building from rough sketches forever and I haven't bothered learning Sketchup. I did play with it one day and in the time it took me to draw three panels, I could have built an actual box. ;-P Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe

I agree... though with my last build had I done a quick sketch up session I could have found the problem I had very quick... sketch up is a nice tool to have... especially if the customer or person you are building for really wants to see exactly what the plans look like. or if you are dealing with a shipped order... but generally a good pencil sketch and a good mental picture is good enough... especially if that's how you like to work... it could mean a faster turn over and less time spent on a project. Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option! bbeljefe Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Sketchup. Just saying that I haven't used it enough to be proficient at it. I'm sure I'll have to at some point when someone is paying me to build a box but I haven't had that problem as yet, and I've been building boxes for longer than a lot of the members here have been breathing. ;-P Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
95neon_thumper82 Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 as with everything it has its down side and its bright side... I like the program but it is quite time consuming. personally right now I hate it... mostly because the computer I have it on is having hard drive issues so I'm like ehh its a head ache bahahah Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option!
