if my car peaks at 54hz were shall I tune my box to get the loudest? is true 5hz below?

Well you know that there is much test and tune involved ... So I would say that would be a good starting point

If it is a slot port, build a port tuned to 40. Test, cut 2" off, test, cut 2" off, repeat until you find the best port length.

no just for comps but im confused the sit says that I need to make the box 2.80 cubic feet and I think it's too small for a 15'' it's an spl dynamics xtr-380d2s.
