Renault Megane 4 Fi sp4 18s Walled 12k -- 510 pics

Recommended Posts

Been taking less and less pictures its hard to press the button when its so cold your hands are numb.

First job today was get glovebox in which didnt fit back due to 6 runs of 0awg in its way so cut 5" off the back of it so it slides back in.

Didnt take pic but it fit first time.

Made a quick cardboard cutout for door card as i knew i wouldnt get it perfect first time.

Then cut it out on 18mm mdf.

09l5.jpg

The factory door cards was so bulky they touched the side of the seats.

I tried to make these as shallow as i could so the speakers wont be right up against them.

lg92.jpg

I planned out where i was going to have the speakers but done it roughly which is not the right way.

y00d.jpg

I kind of got lost in the grids and gave up.

3bm9.jpg

Made the cutout for door release handle the factory position.

Plan is to have 8 crossovers to the left of the handle.

ho5r.jpg

Its only fixed on temporary with 2 screws through the door just to make sure it open and closes properly.

I will be fixing steel angle to the door then bolting door card to that.

qfqe.jpg

Looks very flat and boring at the moment but once i bring it out with crossovers and speakers it should look a bit better.

Not sure how to finish them yet.

I wanted to carry on with doorcards today but being so windy and raining i had to end up backing car half into garage to do some wiring.

gs7i.jpg

Connect 8awg from subs to them then on other side 4awg to amp.

Thats about 1mm gap between bolts from positive and negative can see something bad happening here.

bxh3.jpg

Temporary solution for now but guessing it will fall out so might squirt some silicone between bolts so they dont contact.

  • 4 weeks later...

Its been a while since ive made some progress on my build been trying to sort out my suspension as the rear springs bottom out and ive still got 250kg to add to the back.

Anyway i thought id find a place for new voltmeter to go.

peyo.jpg

I have no real precision tools like a dremel to make a nice cutout for it so i ended up making a hole with soldering iron and using little file.

qtjs.jpg

Takes ages with a little file but its almost the right size for voltmeter.

1sj1.jpg

Hopefully more progress will happen soon.

Another rainy day so cant get much done. Finished filling out the whole for voltmeter and test fitted, still needs wiring up.

n7s7.jpg

It turns out after all my planning i mis measured.

i02n.jpg

Quick change of plan and they fit, not how i wanted but atleast they all there.

fi2m.jpg

Wanted to route out all the speaker holes but would of been too messy to do indoors so just started marking a few center points.

What the hell happened with the amp to make you do that?

I mean shit that amp costs way more than my 2 750.1s combined.... I'd be pissed if I had to bolt power and ground onto the rails. That's what terminals were made for

The amp comes with direct connections but only 2 positives and 2 negatives in 0awg so i wanted to double it up so now 4 positives 4 negatives.
