alaskanzx5
i dont know never used it. this is the one i use to check my port tuning with. havent heard any complaints about it. http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 as an idea maybe if you build another box with a bigger port you could change the port tuning by putting a board in the port to make it less in width or height pending how you put the board in. the smaller port size would lower the tuning freq. like a port that is 16.5" x 4" 22" long would be roughly 38hz but add some mdf to the inside of the port to make it 16.5" x 3.25" would make it roughly 35hz. just an example for a 4cuft box though not really any work put in to it to actually figure it out. im going to use 6" aero ports (pvc) and thinking of finding a way to add a few inches to the port length or just have 2 sets of ports one for daily one for spl. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. jmanjr82
How did you like that nvx mat? Its not the cheapest cost, but I am curious how it stacks up as far as installation and actual results?
PSIFocus
Hello the NVX worked great it was easy to apply and it seems to do a great job! Sonic electronics always seems to have deal for it and if they don't advertise it ask they will hook you up.
PSIFocus
Its getting louder and better looking Stepped up to a DC 7.5K and the box has been finished! . It just barely fit in the car! The car took first place in the USACi stock 1500+ class @IFO on Sunday. It did a 152 @ 50 hz with zero tuning time.
alaskanzx5
Nice score. Box looks fantastic finished like that. I've decided to gain volume in going to cut the 2 trim prices and loose the cargo cover. I can get about 2" taller and keep a 40" width. Bottles m depth will be 29-30" top 19". Won't be easy. Will build the bottom and side outside the car the top inside the car then cut the trim pieces to fit snug up against the box. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. PSIFocus
Thank you! I think it should go up with some tuning time. I hope so at least. lol I would really like to remove that stuff but to stay in the stock class I cannot modify the car. There is a lot of room to be gained with those dumb panels out of the way. This was a bitch to get it al to fit, for the seat to still function, and for the cargo cover to still fit.
alaskanzx5
Yeah at fist I was worried about class but the hell with it.
