BigGains
When trying to achieve 14.4 volts shouldn't I get a 14 volt battery as a second battery and replace the 12 volt under my hood to a 14 volt battery, i also will be upgrading my alternator to a h/o. 2003 silverado TEAM DC Pioneer Avh 5500 4 DC lvl 5 18s 12 crescendo pwx 6.5s 4 crescendo ft1 tweets 6xs d3400s Singer 400 alt Skyhigh ofc wires Skyhigh speaker wires Smd vm1 2 DC 175.4 DC 10k
axevon
I'm no expert but you're going to need a lot more than that. Firstly, I believe many of the car electronics won't like running higher than 12v. Also you will need a voltage regulator for the alternator. Maybe someone else who has more knowledge can help more but good luck! Leo1103
14 volt batteries charge at 16 volts, so I wouldn't go that route. If you want to maintain 14.4 volts you need to have an alternator that will output more than your total draw 2002 Honda CR-VAlpine 9887My BuildRebuilding... SnowDrifter
Noooo. Do NOT mix 12 and 14v batteries. Get an HO alt(s), bunch of runs to the back. Supercaps do a great job of stabilizing voltage if you have enough alt power. If you want to know why you don't mix 12 and 14v batts, let me know. I'll expand on that when I get to a computer ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
