1987 Ford F150 Future Build

That's what happened to my Mazda, it was junked for $300. The frame was rusted almost in half behind the cab. But now looking for ideas for the new truck.

The frame on the F-150 is solid. The engine runs great, trans shifts smoothly and the rear end is geared low so this will make a good work truck and it can tow a good amount for it being a straight 6 motor. I am wanting to keep the bed useful so what ever I do audio wise has to stay in the cab.

hell yea if its the 300 straight 6 all ive heard is good thing about them. GL with getting ur Lic back. and ur new to u truck/build lol

Yep it has the 300 straight 6. Got a few ideas running around in my head for the truck, but ideas don't necessarily mean they will become reality.

First thing I think I'm going to do is get rid of the bench seat and replace it with a pair of bucket seats. This will give me a more comfortable ride and give me more options on subs. Replacing the bed is also high on my list.

hmmm try to keep everything in the cab or use up some of the bed and do a blow-through? It's a regular cab truck so pretty limited on sub options.

Mustang buckets, and a pair of sweet 10's on like 2k in the center console Your engine bay is the same as my F-250, apart from you having more room lol. You can do dual batts if you ditch the ford factory air box(if it's an EFI truck) and make yourself a battery tray. You'll need a new alternator too, because the factory 80?amp isn't going to hold up to much.

Or you could keep the engine bay stock, and run your extra batts in a toolbox. Even cooler idea, since you mentioned work truck, is building yourself a custom flatbed and fabbing storage boxes for the batts. Sure, flatbeds are kinda ugly, but you could give the truck a lot of TLC and it'll look good.

I like the idea of 2 10's in a center console on 2k. Was thinking of doing a custom C.A.I, it is a EFI truck. Wonder who makes an alternator for this engine, guess I'll have to look around. Not too much out there for the 300 straight 6, from what I've seen. Don't think I would go with a flatbed, but the current bed is beyond repair. Would make more sense to replace it rather than repair. I'll try to get a couple pics when the weather gets nice again.
