Thanks for the info, will be handy as I jump into my upgrade to a more SQ-like setup.

I don't have any additional info on SQ setups in particular, I'm just now at the point where I can really go SQ

This is gonna be a really long post, but here is a lot of what I use.

All of A. Neville Thiele and Richard Small's research papers:

http://www.readresearch.co.uk/articles.php

Fecupe2001's thread from here on his SPL gains and testing:

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/98191-spl-gains-updates-page-30-routing-the-port/

Covers the basics of almost anything audio.

Flaring PVC ports and a lot more info on it.

For calculating port area and length these are some great formulas:

http://www.diysubwoo...isc/portcal.htm

http://www.carstereo...icles.cfm?id=21 ( I think these formulas are 6 generations behind from the source. As they are from the original Loudspeaker Cookbook.)

Conversion charts:

If you want to get into the real "nitty gritty" parts of it check out this, any further look into the sources he sites:

JBL's system design reference manual. Not car audio based, but it directly relates to car audio.

If you wanna design your own passive crossovers this will help you understand it:

Speaker design:

Loudspeaker diaphragm materials:

Absorption coefficients of common building materials and finishes:

MY FAVORITE:
Sound physics The man who wrote this is not too computer "savvy", but was an engineer for NASA's Jet Propulsion Labs for 35 years. He has two "Table of Contents".

And

This is an introductory course used by many universities and colleges around the world.

Great books are:

Loudspeaker Design Cookbook 7th generation

Handbook for Sound Engineers

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

And since I feel like it some introductory courses for DC electronics and AC electronics:

DC:

AC:

There are 7 books of this series so read up!
