rolltide0323 Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Let me start by saying I just bought a new head unit, Kenwood KDC-355u I believe and installed it today along with my Kicker CX1200.1 mono amp and 2 Sundown Audio SD-2 10" 2ohm subs. I had the amp and subs in another truck before and never had an issue with the amp. I ran the amp at about 1/4 to 1/2 gain and ran the crossover at 80Hz and had the bass boost on 0 on the amp and it sounded good. Now that I have installed everything in my new truck I was having issues with not getting much out of the subs. Long story short, I had to hook the amp up to the sub output in the back of the radio and have the gain and bass boost on the amp all the way up. This is the only way I can get decent bass. I turned up the bass level, loudness, sub level, and bass boost up on the radio to get the bass that I want but it still doesn't sound right. I have the LPF set to 80hz and all of the settings that I can find in the audio settings seem to be correct. I've redone the power wire to the positive terminal, check the inline fuse, also redid the ground as well. The amp has the green led on and I have the subs hooked up parallel for a 2ohm load. Can someone please help me out here. I'm getting very frustrated. I've installed stereo systems before and this is being a pain. Also I noticed that when I had the radio on my dome light was flickering a little bit. What does this mean? I have the Power wire secured very tight. Thanks for any help.

mnrookie Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Turn your subwoofer output level all the way up on your headunit.
mnrookie Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 I would also turn your bass boost all the way down, and either get an oscope or dd1 to set your gain.
rolltide0323 Posted November 25, 2013 Author Report Posted November 25, 2013 Turn your subwoofer output level all the way up on your headunit. The sub output is turned all the way up. That's the only way I could get decent bass from it.
