'06 350Z CarPuter + Fosgate Build

Been planning the project for a little over a year now. Build was started Middle of October. It will be a slow build, but its about half way done as of now.

So onto the interesting parts!

Specs:
Motherboard: Asrock A75M-ITX
APU: AMD A6-3600
Memory: 4GB DDR3 Mushkin
PSU: Mini-box M4-ATX
4 Channel amp: Rockford Fostgate P400X4

Speakers: P165-S - Front Stage / P165 - Rear Stage

Knuconceptz 0 Gauge running from the battery to the amp rack.

Knuconceptz 16 Gauge Karma Kable to all speakers.

3 Buss Bars inside the amp rack for Ground, 12V, and ACC.

Next was getting the rack and everything wired up in the car. I don't have pictures of the process just nice shots of the finished product

Then came in the new speakers. P165/S front front and rear.

I had to make speaker adapter rings for them to mount properly in the factory location. The tweeters went right into the factory sail panel.

And that'a it for now. Waiting to get the needed money for the Fosgate 3Sixty.3, sub, and amp. Sub will have a full fiberglass box in the factory location.

Almost everything here was bought off Amazon.

there was modification that had to be done to the dash kit to get it sit and fit right. Also putting the lcd inside the kit was time consuming.

This is pretty straight forward. Put LCD in DBL Din frame. Put all connectors in. Put in car.

Its easy but does take time. Just getting the frame lcd and computer all working together took a day.

Awesome man that is for sure easy enough. Now if I only knew how to build a computer lol. Also what are you using to connect the carputer to the amps?

Right now its just 3.5 mm to RCA cables. This causes a lot of feedback at shutdown and hurts the speakers. Once the 3Sixty.3 is in it will be optical out to the 3Sixty.3 and will sound so much better. If you need specifics on the computer or some tips just PM me. I would be glad to help.

Ok guys little bit of an update. I haven't made really any progress on this since it go so cold so quick here.

So here is a little back fill, I originally was using an M4-ATX-HV from Mini-box to power the computer and turn the amp on. The M4 was trash at best. Amplifier thump control did not work properly. Would not shutdown the amp before shutting of the PC causing noise from the computer board to get through and hurt the speakers. The M4 also started to randomly shut the computer on and off for no reason.

I replaced the M4 with a Carnetix CNX-P2140 and Mini-box PicoPSU-120. Big thing about the Carnetix Regulator is the very feature filled GUI to control every aspect of it. So now that the PSU is swapped out with a better system the computer boots reliably. Best part is, the Carnetix shuts the amp off before shutting the computer down. It saves my speakers!

Hope you guys enjoy the little update that this is. Progress is progress, no matter how small.
