drbizerk
I am trying to get some suggestions for a new box. It's going in the bed of my 93 c1500. The subs are two 9515's (H motors w/shorting rings and I baskets & soft parts). Amp is JBL / CROWN GTI 6k. I've done two different ported boxes (10 cubes @ 33Hz with 145 sq of port area and 13 cubes @ 36Hz with 201 sq of port area). ..My question is do i have too much power for boxes this big? I'm considering 3-4 cubes per sub....Thanks in advance for any insight

Bump4life
i dont know much about amp but if it does a true 6k aim for 4-4.5 cubes net per sub. and any where from 100-140 sq in of port tune 37-40. people that dont have luck with dd on low tuning should try the reccommended 37-40 hz depending on listening preferences. more port will be less musical but will be louder for spl. drbizerk
Thanks bro, I didn't know that less port was more musical....learn something new everyday. What about the subs in seperate enclosures vs shared airspace?
Bump4life
Thanks bro, I didn't know that less port was more musical....learn something new everyday. What about the subs in seperate enclosures vs shared airspace? i personally like shared space, but the subs need to be built at same time and must be exactly the same. too small of port can be bad too though. just need the right ratio.
