jhmeg2 Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I have been asked to do a new PA for the Country Club. We are reusing the old speakers and lines. but replacing the amp. We have a few wireless and wired mics. I know I can't just come out of the amp and go to a buss bar and hook up 17 speakers. I was told something about a 70 volt amp or something. this is new to me. I also have to keep it cheap under $500. Please help ////Alpine, Eclipse, Load Boss, Pheonix Gold, MB Quart,Digital Desings, Memphis, Stinger, Periphial, MTX, Visualogic

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.

Then have speaker A for inside speaker B for outside ////Alpine, Eclipse, Load Boss, Pheonix Gold, MB Quart,Digital Desings, Memphis, Stinger, Periphial, MTX, Visualogic
STEvil Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 The speakers are made to be run in parallel and should already be configured like that if you are using the existing speakers. You said you're just buying an amp, so all you should have to do is unplug the old wires and plug them into the new amp. There should be a small dial on the back of each speaker which adjusts how loud it is (commonly listed as lower or higher voltages on the dial); each speaker should already be set for the area it is in and you will just have to dial the amp up or down a bit and walk around to listen what each speaker is doing. More reading for you. http://www.parts-express.com/resources-70-volt-system-beginners http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constant-voltage_speaker_system edit This assumes the club speakers are constant voltage speakers, which they should be if they're driving that many..
