Hunter Smith Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 I had just bought one of these 15s today and running a hifonics 1500 watt hifi mono block amp it is in a mtx sledgehammer ported box now i just need some advice to get best results
Joe X Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 The box is made for a MTX sub, you can't do anything to it. Just set your gains correctly.

goldeneye4564 Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 hmm. if you have a multi-meter turn the system off and check the ohms resistance reading on the + and - connection at the amp with a multi-meter im pretty sure those subs are dual 4 from what i saw online. if you have around a 2 ohm reading your sub shouldnt be blown. i am guessing the amp could have a problem internally. Joe X Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 That is not a box issue, it sounds like bad electrical, bad wiring or amp issue either setup or defective, You should get at least a digital multimeter.
Hunter Smith Posted December 15, 2013 Author Report Posted December 15, 2013 Ok i will check the wiring and where can i get a meter the amp runs flawless at 4 ohm also the speaker is screwed in with the magnet on the outside of the box will that effect the sound any

The sub mounted backwards should not be the issue.

Joe X Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 That's 4 ohm coils wired in parallel for a 2 ohm final load, I guess you use just 1 coil for 4 ohm? Just curious.
