jarball25 Posted December 23, 2013 Report Share Posted December 23, 2013 I purchased 2 used Memphis 16-mc1.4000 amps off of ebay for $950 each. I installed one at 1.4ohms(tested with a fluke) it played for a few hours and when i cranked it for the first time the amp fried. The amps power light still comes on but i get no sound. Memphis has this $300 amp repair service which i decide to send my amp. After about a month i call for an update They tell me they have the amp and its non repairable, and that my power board has been damaged and they can't do anything for me. They tell me they're going to ship my amp back and wave the $50 bench test fee… As you guys can imagine I'm pissed! Has anyone ever heard of this being a reason for an amp to not be repaired by the company that made the freaking amp? Any ideas on a company that has a good amp around 4kw with good repair capability and price? Because memphis new model seams to be the reason they can't replace my power board in my amp?
