Gustav Gutta Persson Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 I will have 2 subs on 5k rms and speakers on ?rms, i know I need some big battery to handle this. But the question is, how will i do with the alternators, if i only have room for 1. Cus I cant connect 3 big battery to 1 alternator have I heard.please don't nag about this is not on my level, cus it isn't. so please don't flame
n8ball2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 You can run oje alt for three batteries. Your fsctory alt wont keep up though. You need a ho alt from a known manufacturer not an ebaynor power bastards pos. Expect to spend 500 or more on an alt. zayres29 Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 ^ right 500+ for a trusted brand and when you connect all your batteries to your alt just connect all three positives to the positive on the alt Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
Gustav Gutta Persson Posted December 23, 2013 Author Report Posted December 23, 2013 Is there another way to power the amps? mean something else instead of a alternator
zayres29 Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 nope not really .... you could run less power once you get over 1200 watts stock alts and betteries just cant keep up... especially with 5k i would suggest no less than a 250a alt from mechman or dcpower and 1 or 2 group 31 batteries... the more batteries the better (but the more batteries the bigger your alt should be) Btw that was the first person. Gustav Gutta Persson Posted December 24, 2013 Author Report Posted December 24, 2013 Ye I was afraid of that. But for ex 6k rms, how big alternator should i have?
n8ball2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 At that point as big as you can youve crossed the realm of simple and are now in big boy territory THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.
Gustav Gutta Persson Posted December 24, 2013 Author Report Posted December 24, 2013 Ye it looks like that , but can I really connect 3 big battery to 1 fabric alternator at to begin with? or it will burn up
zayres29 Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 imo anything more that 4k of power i would fit as big of an alt that would fit my vehicle and as many of them as possible ... but thats if it was my vehicle i would budget around my electrical system to run 5-6k of power you are going to spend 2-3k or more easily on just wire batteries and alts Btw that was the first person. zayres29 Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 you can connect the batteries like that but dont expect it to be reliable Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
